Philosophy of Education
Education is essentially a process of growth; therefore, a philosophy of education is the systematic reflection upon the basic nature of this growth, the varying kinds of development of which it is comprised, and the principal means best suited to achieve it.
We believe that every learner possesses an individual dignity and as a child of God has both a present and a future to prepare for and live. As a corporeal-spiritual being, endowed with a range of wonderful powers, each learner has the capability to gradually attain development. This process requires both personal effort and the help of others.
We believe that each individual best serves God and country by becoming a competent, well- informed and productive citizen. The development of individual powers enables people to meet successfully all the demands of life.
Therefore, we strive to inculcate through instruction and example of Christlike attitudes and habits until each student thinks, acts and lives as Christ, dedicated to the sincere pursuit of truth while recognizing and fulfilling vital obligations and responsibilities: to live as Jesus did, to be a Christian leader in the community and the Church, and to serve others in Franciscan peace and brotherhood.
