EventsCheers! Re-union of Batch '67, November 26, 2011, at Vista Lodge, Kilim, Baybay, Leyte. Present, were twenty-three members of Class '67. Avelino Estoy, Oscar Balan, Sisinio Balaga, Lucretia Tripoli-Uy, Rosalia Borneo and Herminigilda Igmen-Estanislao, hosted the get-together. FCIC Reachout by The EditorFCIC OPPOSES THE RESPONSIBLE PARENTHOOD BILL Its not all that glitters is gold. So its not all that is legal is moral. Being the only Catholic learning institution in Baybay City the Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception is planning to have a "PARADE FOR LIFE" as an expression of protest to the passage of the "Resposible Parenthood Bill" which is pending in Congress. The bill which aims to provide free access to contraceptives and other methods of birth control to Filipinos has already been rejected by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines. AndujarFCIC FACULTY JOINS EDUCATOR'S CONGRESS FCIC Faculty headed by Sister Teresita Lopez OSF School President, joined the 4th Diocesan Educators Congress last February 26, 2011 at Saint Joseph College Audio Visual Room. The said congress has its theme "A Heart of Eden, A Hand of Ecology". It was participated in by the Schools of the Diocesan Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP)Diocese of Maasin. There were 14 schools present during the event. The theme of the congress was further explained when Mr. Baltazar S. Tribunalo Jr. Advisor on Child Centered Climate and Disaster Risk Management lectured us about climate change and ways to avoid disaster. On the afternoon, the guest speaker Mr.Ruel Bate talked about the role of an educator and how to be an effective teacher. The program ended with an Eucharistic celebration presided by the Bishop of Maasin Most Rev. Precioso D. Cantillas, SDB, DD. The participants went home with satisfaction on their self for the learnings they gained. read more ... |
